Why HONU Matters

In Bukuya Sub-County, Kassanda District, many families face poverty, limited access to education, and few income-generating opportunities. HONU is committed to being a partner in change — not just providing relief, but enabling self-reliance.
Our Impact

Child Haven (Shelter Program)
Child Haven has provided safe shelter, nutrition, and emotional care to over 350 vulnerable and orphaned children, protecting them from abuse, exploitation, and early marriage.

Kizibawo Primary School
Kizibawo Primary School has given over 1,800 children access to quality basic education, reducing illiteracy and increasing school completion rates in Kitokolo and surrounding villages.

Sponsorship & Community Support Program
Through bursaries, food relief, and school materials, HONU has supported over 900 vulnerable families and kept more than 500 children in school who would otherwise have dropped out due to poverty.

Church & Spiritual Development Programs
HONU’s Anglican Church ministry has strengthened the spiritual, emotional, and moral wellbeing of over 2,500 community members, nurturing a more united and values-driven community.

Hope High School Kizibawo
Hope High School has supported more than 1,200 teenagers to continue with secondary education, lowering dropout rates and producing graduates who now serve as teachers, nurses, artisans, and community leaders.

Kizibawo Vocational Institute (KVI)
KVI has equipped over 650 youth from 10+ districts with employable technical skills, with 70% of graduates securing jobs or starting small businesses within their first year.

Kitokolo Health Centre II
Kitokolo Health Centre II provides essential treatment, maternal care, and immunization to over 4,000 patients every year, significantly reducing preventable disease and improving community health outcomes.
