Kitokolo Village, Bukuya Sub-county, Kassanda District – Saturday, 18th April 2026

In a colourful, spirit-filled, and deeply memorable celebration, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, officially laid the Acknowledgement Stone for All Saints Kitokolo Church of Uganda. The event marked a historic milestone for the Christian community in Bukuya Sub-county.

The ceremony signified the formal commissioning of the church building, which has been faithfully serving the congregation and the surrounding community for the past five years. It was a day filled with vibrant worship, heartfelt thanksgiving, and a renewed commitment to God’s work in the area.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. James Bukomeko, the 5th Bishop of Mityana Diocese, presided over the service and laid the Foundation Stone, symbolizing the strong spiritual foundation of the church. The occasion was further enriched with a Holy Baptism, joyful children’s presentations, and inspiring messages calling for moral uprightness and faithful stewardship.

A Historic Mark in Stone

Two elegant black marble plaques mounted on the red brick wall of the church beautifully captured the significance of the day:

At the church entrance, a large painted stone warmly welcomes every worshipper with the words: “ENTER HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING” (Psalm 100:4).

A Partnership Rooted in Faith and Love

The successful completion of All Saints Kitokolo Church is a testimony of genuine Christian partnership. It was made possible through the generous support of Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Jesus-Leben Essen-Burgaltendorf (Germany), Hope for the Needy Uganda (HONU), and the committed local Anglican community.

Since 2017, Hope for the Needy Uganda has been transforming lives in Kassanda District through its holistic ministry. In addition to supporting the church, HONU runs Kizibawo Primary School, Hope High School Kizibawo, Kizibawo Vocational Institute, and Kitokolo Health Centre II. This integrated approach combines strong faith formation with practical development.

Highlights of the Celebration

The day featured several powerful and inspiring moments:

• Holy Baptism: New believers were baptised, publicly declaring their faith in Jesus Christ and marking a new chapter in their spiritual journey.
• Sunday school Presentation: The children from the church and those supported by Hope for the Needy Kitokolo delighted the congregation with beautiful songs, poems, and energetic traditional dances. Their performance brought great joy and highlighted the church’s commitment to raising a godly generation.
• Vocational Impact: The event also showcased the link between faith and practical empowerment. Through HONU’s Kizibawo Vocational Institute, young people are acquiring valuable skills in tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, and other trades, enabling them to become self-reliant while growing in Christian character.

Before the main service, Archbishop Kazimba visited the Hope for the Needy Kitokolo children’s ministry, where he planted a tree. This symbolic act represented growth, environmental care, and hope for the future of vulnerable children in the community.

In his powerful address, the Archbishop strongly condemned the rising cases of land grabbing and moral decay in society. He urged believers to live with integrity, protect what belongs to them, and use the new church building as a sacred space for true worship and transformation.

Bishop Bukomeko and the diocesan clergy warmly received the Archbishop, and the entire service was marked by vibrant worship and overwhelming joy.

All Saints Kitokolo Church now stands as more than just a physical structure it is a beacon of spiritual nourishment, moral guidance, and holistic community transformation in Bukuya Sub-county.

With Christ himself as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), the church is well positioned to advance the Gospel, disciple believers, and continue its partnership with Hope for the Needy Uganda in transforming lives.

The day ended with deep gratitude to God, the German partners, HONU, and the local community whose hard work and faith made this vision a reality.

As worshippers continue to “enter His gates with thanksgiving,” the future of All Saints Kitokolo Church shines brightly a lasting testimony of faith, hope, and Christian love for generations to come.
